Cemal Tosun (TUR)

is Professor for Islamic theology at the University of Ankara, where he received his Ph.D. in 2000. He was visiting Professor at the Osch Staat Universitaet Kirgizistan, the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg with priority on religious education. Since 2001 he chairs the IDKAB, which organises the education of teachers in Turkey and is permanent member of the section “education and padogigic” of the Ministry of Education. Among his publicationsare: Frieden im Koran (ed. together with W.Hausmann Gütersloh 2006); Thesen zum Islamunterricht in der Schule als Begegnung mit einer multikulturell geprägten Umwelt (ed. H. G. Babke and others, Braunschweig, 2005); Islamischer Religionsunterricht in interkultureller Perspektive: Ein islamischer Religionsunterricht, der zum Islam und zum interreligiösen Dialog erzieht (Göttingen 2004); Evrensel Bir Ahlaka Doğru (Auf dem Weg zu einer globalen Ethik), eine türkische Übersetzung des Werks Erklärung zum Weltethos von Hans Küng und Karl Josef Kuschel (Ankara 1995).
