is Professor for systematic theology at the University of Oslo. After holding a NAVF-scholarship he received his Ph.D. from the University of Oslo and has now specialised on ethical Issues and the question of Religion and Culture. Hafstad participated in the project “Religion in a Globalized Age”, which was running between 2003 and 2005 and was responsible for Barn og ungdom i spenningen mellom emanispasjon og institusjon under NFR from 1997 to 1999. Among his publications are: Ekklesiologi fra forsvarsstrategi til program (Oslo 2005); Endre elite – gjenopprette ny rettferdighet uten ny urett (Oslo 2005); Angst for åpenhet. Samvittighet og samtale i kirken (Oslo 1995); Politikk i Det nye testamente og politisk eksegese (1973) and Religiöse Sprache und Referenz. Momente im Gespräch mit Dewi Zephaniah Phillips und Eberhard Jüngel (Frankfurt 1996).
