is Professor at Uppsala University, Sweden. Her research interests are religious change seen in terms of “softening” and “hardening” processes; theologies of religions; relations between secular and religious traditions; and religion and post/colonialism. She is co-ordinator of TRES (Teaching Religion in a Multicultural European Society), a network of academics and practitioners, dealing with teaching religions, religion and welfare, and religion and conflict. Ahlstrand is the author of Fundamental Openness: An Enquiry into Raimundo Panikkar’s Theological Vision and Its Philosophical Presuppositions, (Uppsala 1993); co-editor of Samtal om religionsteologi (together with Håkan Sandvik) (2001); editor of Vad ska vi tro om de andra? (1999). She has written several articles, for example Toward a Paradigm Shift in Christian Mission: South Asia and North Europe (2003).
